Closwap launches first London store
Closwap, a sustainable fashion brand set up by three students, has opened its flagship second hand clothing store in Finsbury, London.
The Closwap London store offers customers the chance to bring in used clothes and receive instant cash or store credit, no apps or listings required, just straightforward resale.
The move comes after Closwap recirculated over 20,000 garments through pop-ups across London.

Founded by Maria Remy, Peter Zakhar and Dominik Vesely, Closwap started with a clothing rack and a cardboard sign on Brick Lane.
The team worked with universities and student housing providers to run 45 pop-ups, saving an estimated 72,900kg of CO₂ and 54.7 million litres of water.
Closwap has picked up awards such as the Mayor of London’s Entrepreneur Award 2024.
The new Closwap London store also hosts weekly community events with DJs and activities.
Closwap’s app, described as ‘Tinder for clothes’, is being developed with AI features and blockchain integration.
Remy said: “We want clothes to have liquidity.”
Closwap is now raising funds for US expansion, with investment secured from the UAE and other backers.
The company is targeting cities including New York and Los Angeles.
