Nike reveals Cryoshot silhouette inspired by R9 Mercurial
Nike has revealed the Nike Cryoshot, a new silhouette inspired by the classic R9 Mercurial football boot.
The launch was teased on Nike’s Instagram, with images showing a de-icing effect and visuals linked to the upcoming Champions League Final.
Nike has not shared full details yet, but the Cryoshot has clear links to the original Mercurial R9 worn by Ronaldo at the 1998 World Cup, shown in the wave pattern on the upper and the silver blue colourway.
Nike also posted other cryptic images connected to the Champions League Final, using the same frozen theme.
The Cryoshot is the latest in a line of football boot-inspired trainers to move into streetwear, similar to the recent T90 re-launch and the adidas Predator Megaride.
