Primark launches Manchester Market Street store revamp
Primark is carrying out a full revamp of its Manchester Market Street store this summer, with work due to finish by September.
The Manchester Market Street store is one of Primark’s largest UK high street flagships, covering over 150,000 sq. ft.
The upgrade includes a modernised layout, more self-service checkouts, new fixtures and fittings, and updated windows to create a brighter shopping environment.
Walkways and signage are being refreshed, and LED lighting will be installed throughout.
A new performance wear area will be added, including enhanced displays.
The RAWR beauty studio will be updated as part of the works.
WornWell’s vintage clothing concession will leave, making way for Primark’s own pre-loved offer, due to launch in July as a pilot for the business.
This is the first time the retailer has introduced a pre-loved section in any of its stores.
The Manchester Market Street branch first opened in 2001 and currently employs over 500 retail colleagues, most of whom are based in Greater Manchester.
Rich Davis, general manager at Primark Manchester Market Street store, said: “We’re excited for these changes to take place in our Market Street store, particularly as we’ve been here in the heart of Manchester for the past 25 years.
“We’re doing our best to minimise disruption for our customer in the meantime, but we want to thank everyone in advance for their understanding and patience throughout this period.
“We’ll be open as usual throughout the summer and the team can’t wait to unveil our fully revamped store when the time comes.”
