Whistles appoints Jacqui Markham as creative director

British fashion retailer Whistles has appointed Jacqui Markham as creative director, a newly created role.

Markham will lead on the brand’s design direction and wider creative vision.

Markham began her career as a designer at Oasis and Karen Millen and has worked as design director for Topshop and Topman.

She also held the same position at Asos and Urban Outfitters Europe.

Additionally, Markham has worked as a design consultant for Topshop and Studio Jack and was most recently freelancing.

Markham will report to product director Camille Sullivan.

Sullivan said Markham’s experience would be “instrumental in driving both the brand and our product offering forward in our next stage of growth”.

Markham said: “I’m looking to bring a fresh spirit to the brand by channelling the visionary ethos set by Lucille Lewin and building on the contemporary yet effortless, signature style of Whistles.”
