ASOS backs next generation of fashion talent with ASOS Supports

ASOS has confirmed the return of ASOS Supports, its platform for supporting people, communities and brands shaping the future of fashion.

The ASOS Supports scheme is focused on backing emerging brands, creative and cultural partnerships, and the next generation of fashion talent.

Vanessa Spence, executive vice president of brand and creative at ASOS, said: “ASOS Supports is about turning up for the people and communities shaping what’s next.

“We’ve always believed fashion should be a platform for identity, creativity, and change.

“This is how we’re supporting the next generation: by opening doors and investing in the culture they’re creating.”

ASOS Supports will include the second year of scaleUP, an incubator for brands owned by people from global majority backgrounds, delivered in partnership with the (Fashion) Minority Report.

By Grace Ambrose, Reign Studio and Sondor have been selected for the nine-month programme, which offers access to industry advice, mentorship, and a chance to retail on ASOS.com.

Each brand has shown a distinctive vision and commercial potential.

ASOS has also teamed up with Graduate Fashion Week to find new talent and co-create collections, giving graduates the chance to showcase their work on ASOS.com.

The retailer is sponsoring the Graduate Fashion Week Styling & Creative Direction Award in honour of Sarah McGreevy, former ASOS creative director.

The award recognises creative visionaries in fashion.

Additionally, ASOS continues its partnership with The Sourced Collection, a brand founded by Lois Smith, with a new 14-piece capsule collection designed and sold exclusively on ASOS.

As well as the collection, the business is providing marketing support, mentoring, and talent development for The Sourced Collection.

ASOS said more collaborations and partnerships are planned as part of ASOS Supports.
